Thomas Michael Meers Jr. (Tom) of Springfield Township, PA. passed away peacefully at his home on May 18, 2023. He was born on June 19, 1964 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Thomas Michael Meers and Beryl (Springman) Meers.
Survived by his Son, Thomas Millard Meers (Chrissy); his Sister, Holly Meers Shields (Robert), Nieces, Audrey and Grace Shields; Step Mother, Joyce Meers; Step Sister, Cheryl Murphy (Kevin); Step Brother, Fran Mulhern (Beth); Brothers/Sisters from other Mothers/Fathers, Joseph Scutti (Stacy), Matthew Eisele (Melissa), Dawn Shantz (Daniel); little dog, Lacey (aka Woo); many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Surrogate Nieces/Nephews, and an army of fantastic friends.
Tom was employed as an automotive paint technician & representative with RW Mallons, and then Colours, Inc. for the last 20 years, where he enjoyed advising, instructing, and keeping his clients up to date on new technology and best practices. He truly loved his job, his colleagues, and his clients; many whom he called friends. Tom was an accomplished and a meticulous auto painter throughout his career and utilized his talents at various establishments in the area. Tom was also an amazing painter, airbrush artist and craftsman, and he was willing to share his expertise and knowledge with both the enthusiast and professional.
Thomas graduated from Springfield Township High School and Eastern Montgomery Vocational and Technical School in 1983.
Following in the footsteps of his father, Tom had a passion for Hot Rods, cars and boats. He was a member of the Philadelphia Modifiers, and the Time Bandits. His pride and joy was his 1932 Ford Roadster which he spent many hours restoring to a period correct example of a 1960s Hot Rod.
When he wasn’t winning trophies at car shows, running his car at a cruise night, or teaching himself how to play guitar, Tom enjoyed fishing in his MacDaddy Kayak, relaxing in the COTU (Maryland), spending time with his son, his family, and most of all—hanging out with his friends, family and dogs on his porch, with some cocktails, listening to music (usually Buffet or Gordon Lightfoot), and telling stories by the fire pit. Tom enjoyed life. He loved his friends, his hobbies, and a good rum & coke. Tom was a kind and generous man, friend, role model, and most of all, warrior.
