Stella Doherty

Stella R. Doherty, R.N. (nee Randzio), (age 89), on September 20, 2018.  She was married to the late Edward J. Doherty, Jr. for sixty years.  She was born on November 14, 1928, in West Hazleton, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Pauline and Bronislaw Randzio.  The seventh of eleven children, she spent her early years in West Hazleton.  Following her graduation from Little Flower High School in Philadelphia in 1946, she began her studies in Nursing at Misericordia Hospital.  She furthered her studies in Nursing at Villanova University, St. Joseph’s University and the University of Pennsylvania.   She is survived by her sister, Violet Hrin, of Doylestown, Pennsylvania and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by sisters Josephine Voycheck, Agnes Capps, Helen Merryman, Elizabeth Coyne, Pauline Antonietti, Sister Maria Christi Randzio, IHM, and brothers Anthony, Leo, and Bernard Ranjo. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday September 29, 2018 from 9-10:30AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM at Visitation BVM Church, 196 N. Trooper Rd., Norristown, PA, 19403.   In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated in memory of Sister Maria Christi Randzio, IHM, at Immaculata University, Immaculata, PA, 19345.
