Robert T. Buckley

d. May 22, 2019

Robert T. Buckley   February 12, 1939 to May 22, 2019     A True Irish Gentleman.   Beloved husband to Clementina, “his bride” of 58 years. Devoted father to Denise McDugall (Tom), Diane McPherson and Robert P. Buckley (Patricia). Grandpop to Caitlin O’Neil (Jake), Samantha Butler (Tyler), Bridget McDugall, Alex McPherson, Carlo Morelli, Daniel McDugall and Sarah Buckley. GGPop to Leighton, Liam, Olivia and Patrick.  Cradling his newest great-granddaughter, Finley Grace, in his arms until sending her safely to us. Bob was a true example of dedication to family and a quiet pillar of strength among our loved ones.    Bob loved holidays. The window of his home with Clemi was always a reflection of the current season. Boxes neatly labeled filled his garage for the appropriate time to “do the window”, something his grandchildren always looked forward to seeing. While he was only given one day a year to indulge in corned beef and cabbage, Bob was an expert in lasagna making. No Christmas was complete without the weeklong process of making that family tradition. There was nobody that could make evenly sized, perfectly round meatballs like Bob Buckley!   All had the potential to be included in the clan of Bob Buckley. He was courteous to all he met, helpful to many, and will be missed by all who were lucky enough to share any time with him. Family to him was not just his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In-laws, cousins, nephews, nieces, neighbors, and friends were absorbed into his circle. Bob loved everyone and lived his life with a grateful heart. Gracious always, never known to raise his voice, Bob treated all with respect. He never judged anyone and always saw the good in others Though quiet by nature, he had a quick wit and was full of stories that warmed our hearts and made us laugh.    Bob always had a smile to light up those gorgeous blue eyes, which shined brightly and exuded kindness. He loved his family unconditionally. Bob could paint a room, fix a car, and man a grill all in the same day! There was no job too large for him to handle if it meant helping another. Bob never said no to a request for help, even as time robbed him of his ability. He epitomized perseverance, hard work and commitment to others. Bob’s favorite pastimes included family parties, being down the shore, and fishing. He had a humble, honest, peaceful soul and saw the beauty in life until his final breath.   His legacy will live on in the bond and closeness of his loved ones. Thoughts of him will warm our hearts and remind us to cherish family and friends. We will think of him when we hear the Bible verse, “this is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be thankful,” for that is how Bob Buckley lived his life. Never one to complain, he taught us to be grateful for what we have, to never yearn for material possessions or boast of our own merit, and to always share our bounty with others. He was truly the salt of the earth. We praise God for allowing our paths to intertwine. Until we meet again, we know he will watch over us and shine his light upon our journeys.   We love him, we miss him, we will always remember him.   May he always walk in sunshine. May he never want for more. May our Irish angel rest his wings right beside our door.   A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday June 1, 2019 at 10:30AM at Holy Martyrs Church 120 Allison Rd Oreland, PA 19075.  Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing from 9:30-10:30AM at the church.  Interment will be private.  Memorial Contributions may be made to the Jefferson Health Hospice 225 Newtown Rd Warminster, PA 18974.
