Mitchell R. Owen

In the early morning of Easter Sunday, Mitchell Owen passed away, April 20, 2025, at age 66 in his home in Flourtown, PA. Born August 17, 1958, in Nyack, NY, Mitch was the eldest of his family of origin, then came his brother Kevin Owen and sister Shari Owen. As life would happen the family expanded to include Jennifer (Owen) Hinck sister, Stephen Owen brother and Jimmy Callahan brother. Beloved husband of 25 years to Cathy Owen and loving and devoted father to Benjamin Owen and Emilia Owen, Mitch will be remembered as someone who didn’t just accept you but welcomed you and stood in service to you.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Genevieve Parish (1225 Bethlehem Pike) on Monday, April 28, at 10 am. The family will receive visitors from 9-10 am, before the service at the church. A lunch will follow at DIG Whitemarsh Valley Event Center (493 S Bethlehem Pike) and all are invited. The Mass will be live streamed and may be viewed using the following link:

Mitchell began many hobbies later in life, the most notable was learning to play the guitar. In June of 2017 he joined the St. Genevieve Parish guitar group which allowed him to showcase his new skills in a public and most understanding place. His commitment was strong, and a new loving communion began. That group will be leading us musically throughout the funeral.
