Mary Jane (Murphy) Halpin, on December 6, 2020 surrounded by her family. She was 99 years young. She is predeceased by her husband Jim. Jane will be missed by her children Denise, Tina (Dan—her favorite son-in-law), Melissa and James (Helen—her favorite daughter-in law). She was the treasured Nana to John Miller, Bridget Callaghan, Daniel Callaghan (Shauna); Matthew Halpin (Jodi), Michael Halpin (Samantha) and Robert Halpin (Maria). Jane was great Nana to Nora Callaghan, Hudson, Cooper, Connor, Parker and Baby Halpin. The family would particularly like to thank Lillian Hill and Ethel Carter for their wonderful, loving care of their mother for the past three years, and the dedicated staff of Holy Redeemer Hospice for their compassion and care. Jane was an amazing woman—kind, generous and strong. She had an unbelievable sense of humor and a great sense of style! As one of her co-workers said, she was a “hell of a woman”. She loved the shore, bourbon Manhattan’s (preferably Angel’s Envy which she discussed with the ER doctor) and her Phillies—especially when Charlie was in charge. She loved her family, friends, neighbors and co-workers. Jane enjoyed life, appreciating the beauty of nature and would always alert her family to the wonders of the full moon! The family will host a calling hour at 9:30 am until 10:15 on Friday, December 11 at St. Matthew’s Church. You can attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am either in person or via streaming (details and link below). If attending in person, we ask that you wear a mask and practice social distancing. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Williams Catholic Church, Philadelphia or Holy Redeemer Hospice.
