Margaret M. Garrison, born on June 26, 1956, embraced life with a warmth and kindness that touched everyone she met. She peacefully departed from this world on November 25, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will endure in the hearts of her family and friends.
As a devoted stay-at-home mom for 18 years and an at-home babysitter for 7 years; Margaret dedicated her life to nurturing and caring for her children and family friends. Her deep connection with family extended into her professional life, where she worked as an administrative assistant for various organizations for over 12 years, showcasing her impeccable organizational skills. Margaret was deeply committed to her role as a mother, and her proudest accomplishments were her beloved children and grandchildren. She poured her heart into raising them, instilling values of kindness and compassion that will carry on through generations.
Margaret’s educational journey began at Incarnation of Our Lord Elementary School and continued at Cardinal Dougherty High School, where she laid the foundation for a life centered on faith and community. Margaret embodied a gentle and wise spirit, coupled with a beautiful soul that created a welcoming atmosphere wherever she went. Her laughter and vibrant personality will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Margaret found joy in visiting Diamond Beach in Cape May, exploring Peddler's Village, and appreciating the beauty of Lancaster County. She had a special place in her heart for Hallmark Christmas movies. Yet, what she cherished most was the time spent with her family, friends, and especially her grandchildren—Gia, Mason, Declan, Evelyn, and Bodhi. Each moment shared with them was a treasure, as she delighted in their laughter and milestones.
Margaret is survived by her loving husband, Gregory Garrison, who stood beside her through thick and thin, and her daughters, Elizabeth (and son-in-law Dustin Overturf), Kathleen (and son-in-law Steven Monteforte), and Meghan (and son-in-law Kevin Spangler). She is also survived by her dear siblings: Catherine Goldy, Grace McKenna, MaryAnn McCloskey, Teresa Hughes, and John McCloskey. Margaret's family ties also extend to many nieces, nephews, and extended family members, as well as close friends, all of whom will remember her spirit and kindness.
Though she is preceded in death by her parents, John McCloskey and Mary McCloskey (nee Farrell), her brother Edward McCloskey, and her in-laws, Jack and Rosemary Garrison, Margaret's memory will forever shine brightly through the love she cultivated in her life.
Margaret's journey was one filled with love, laughter, and memories that will be honored by her family and friends. She touched lives in a multitude of ways, and her presence will be profoundly missed. As we gather to celebrate her remarkable life, we find comfort in knowing she will forever live on in our hearts.
