Mable Savage

December 30, 1928 β€” December 5, 2023

Mable Brown-Savage was born in Atlanta, Georgia on December 30, 1928 (an only child) to Roland Brown and Ruby Howell. She was raised in the West End area of Atlanta Georgia. The house where she grew up in was located on the site where Clark Atlanta University now sits. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School.  After being out of high school for a few years, she traveled to Cincinnati, Ohio to take care of her sick Aunt - Lillian Howell-Howard.

After moving to Ohio, she found employment at a clothing warehouse, called Fashion Frock, and she also worked at a staffing agency to help people find jobs.

While living with her Aunt, she met Mr. Theodore Roosevelt Savage.  Like so many others - Theodore migrated North, to have a better life and he was determined to create his own T.V. & Radio repair business. (Mother & Father Company - MoFa Co.)  She supported him in this business, while simultaneously raising four children.

Third Born Text:
What can I say. Life has been a challenge for all of us. However, we try to figure out a way to make it work. Thanks for the life lessons:  "If you can't pay your bills on time, call them and make payment arrangements, and, "You've got to have sweet ways" - (from Ruby Brown). I'm glad that we moved to Atlanta, Georgia, so that you could spend some time with Grandma before she passed.  Remembering some of the good times:  Visiting Aunt Lou in Florida, visiting Uncle Theodis in Bonaire Georgia, moving into my first house, and going to the family reunions. Now I pray that you rest in peace, and that you are with Daddy, Grandma and Grand Daddy.

Fourth Born Text:
Steps:  "Come On - You can do it!".  I recall that moment in time, when taking my first steps in her room.  She held out her hands to catch me - if I should fall.  Later in life - she would always say that I was smart (and I believed it :0)  She would hug me so tight, that sometimes, it would be difficult to breathe.  I've always believed this woman to be magical and that she could obtain anything through prayer.  Her steps in life were not always easy, but she was always with us.  I pray now that she is with God, and of course Mr. Roland Brown - the best father in the entire world  - according to her.  I hope to see you on the other side, o.k. Champarino!  Love Always.

Spouse of Fourth Born Text:

Mother-In-Law -  It is hard to accept this separation, but thank you for giving me the opportunity to share this short time with you, and for thank you for giving me your wonderful daughter.  We will always remember your jokes and the times that we spent with you smiling and laughing.  I will keep all of your words deep within my heart.  Love you Mom.  I wish that God gives you a better place in heaven.  Our souls will join you in the next life. Rest in Peace Mom - Forever.  Amen.
