Joan Dobson, passed away on Wednesday December 7, 2022 surrounded by her family. Joan was born on February 25, 1934 in Yeadon PA, the daughter of the late Robert and Catherine Crilly. Joan was a member of one of the first graduating classes of Villanova Nursing School in 1956 and spent her life selflessly helping and taking care others in need. She was a volunteer at Saint Joseph’s Villa in Flourtown, PA, providing care and compassion to its residents. Joan was a parishioner at Holy Martyrs Church in Oreland, PA. She participated in many volunteer activities at Holy Martyrs ranging from CCD volunteer, parish fundraising, cleaning the church as a member of the “Holy Dusters” and she was also a eucharistic minister. Joan attended mass daily, making a point to always visit the rectory. Her visits helped make the rectory feel like a home for the priests and residents. Joan enjoyed traveling, reading, listening to Irish music and relaxing with a good book at the beach. Joan is survived by her husband, John Dobson; her four children Jack Dobson, Bob Dobson, Bill Dobson (wife Laurie) and Joanne Adkins (husband Henry) and grandchildren, Ashton, Jake, Kerri, Craig, Zach, Henry and Billy, whom she cherished. Joan was predeceased in death by her beloved grandson Gage. Joan will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She will be forever in our hearts. A private service will be held at John F Murray Funeral Home. The family will hold a Celebration of Life Service at a later date.
