Joan Celikiz

Joan Marthacino Celikiz was born 9/8/1934 in Hazelton, PA and passed on 11/24/21. She came to Philadelphia to attend nursing school and met and married the love of her life, Gultekin Celikiz who predeceased her on 9/26/2019. She was instrumental in starting the Albert Einstein Medical Center Hospice Program in the 1970’s. She is missed by daughter Deborah (Lark) son in law, Steven Willey, grandchildren Sarah Willey of Nashville , and Ann Marie England and great grandchildren Hi’ilani, Kiana, David and Matteo who all reside in Waimea, Hawaii. Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 from 6:00-7:00 PM at the John F. Murray Funeral Home , 1220 Bethlehem Pike, Flourtown, Pa 19031. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to SPCA are requested by family.
