Jeanette Marie Thurber (nee Jeanette Fanaro), 75 years old, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2023, in Chestnut Hill, PA. She was born to the late Michael and Elizabeth (Jean) Fanaro. Jeanette was born on July 15, 1947 in Brooklyn, NY, where she resided until relocating to Pennsylvania. Before retiring in 2017, she worked as a medical assistant for South Jersey Pediatrics.
Jeanette, born an only child, could not wait to expand her family. She was blessed with a family that meant the world to her. She was happily married to her loving husband, Carl Thurber, for 54 years. They would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on October 8th of this year. Jeanette was the loving mother to her two daughters, who she devoted her life to. She was a very active member of the parish her children were raised in. Jeanette lived life to the fullest and took every opportunity to be with family and friends, who she cherished dearly. Jeanette’s most precious accomplishments were her grandchildren, with whom she held very special bonds with and was an active part of each of their lives. She was talented in every way; an avid crafter and baker, a connoisseur of tea party extravaganzas, and had the ability to touch the hearts of all those who knew her. She was strong, in the most humble of ways, and her presence will be greatly missed.
Jeanette is survived by her husband, Carl; her daughters Michele Schmukler (Rick) and Kerri Massari (Jon); her grandchildren Taylor Schmukler (Brandon Simpkins), Ryan Schmukler (Kayla Ruiz), Alison Schmukler, Meagan Schmukler, Abigail Massari, and Jack Massari. She is predeceased by her parents.
Services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jeanette’s memory may be made to the MIP Foundation www.MIPFoundation.org.
