James (Jimmy) Edward Lynch, of Wyndmoor, PA passed peacefully on December 6th, 2020. He was born in Tampa FL on August 5, 1951 to the late John Thomas Lynch and Dorothy Bridget (nee Crosson), and survived by his brothers John and Kevin. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Eileen (nee Baumgardner), his son James Lynch Jr. and wife Addy (nee Pearson), and daughter Carolyn (nee Lynch) and Patrick Blair, and his two beloved granddaughters Skyler Pearson Lynch and Cassidy Aileen Blair. His early years were spent moving around the US and Europe, as his father, a WWII vet, served in Army Intelligence for years before the family settled down in the Bustleton area of Philadelphia by middle school. Jimmy went to LaSalle College High School, where he took up basketball and rowing and good-hearted mayhem with classmates who became life-long friends. He moved on to LaSalle College where the general festivities continued, before he got his law degree at the Delaware School of Law (Widner) and pursued a career in the legal field. He was the definition of a big-kid-at-heart and known for his steadfast devotion to his family and friends. He loved Philadelphia sports, spending time down the Jersey shore with family, venturing out for the occasional Buffett concert, and spending time at home with his family. He never shied away from offering a helping hand to anyone in need, and adored spoiling all of the many dogs in his life. His vast knowledge of American and Irish history and trivia was unrivaled and impressed anyone who caught a tidbit in casual conversation. He will be sorely missed by all who were privileged to know him, most of all his family who cherished every belly laugh, glass of OJ or beer with him. We are so appreciative of the love and support shown to our family, and ask in lieu of flowers that donations be sent in honor of Jimmy Lynch to Catholic Relief Services (please notify Eileen Lynch by following the prompts on the donation website, 723 Falcon Drive, Wyndmoor PA 19038) or Monkey’s House. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday December 11, 2020 at 10AM at St. Genevieve Church, 1225 Bethlehem Pike Flourtown, PA 19031. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 9-10AM at the church. Interment will be held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Due to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases, we ask that everyone take the necessary precautions to keep yourself and loved ones safe.
