Erich Stephen Smith

Erich S. Smith, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends, after a courageous 2 year battle with cancer, on October 17, 2024. He was 48 years old. He was the cherished husband of Amy Serbin Smith for 19 years.  

He was born in Arlington, VA on February 11, 1976, the son of the late Stephen Konrad Smith and the late Tina J. Hudson Smith. 

He earned his associates degree in Fine Arts from the Art Institute of Philadelphia.

He was a site estimator for Air Dynamics.  

Erich was a friend to many and was best known for his quick wit, generous nature, love of family and his Lego collection. He was the definition of a “Girl Dad” and found immense joy cheering on his daughters and celebrating their achievements with Amy by his side.  

He loved taking trips to the Poconos with his family and friends and even tolerated summer trips to the Jersey shore. He shared his love of music and bands with his daughters as often as he could. He was active in the Glenside Celtic Club and Glenside Gaelic Club and forged many friendships through his love of the sports. 

In addition to his wife, Erich is survived by his children: Taylor Smith, Molly Smith and Erin Smith; sister Abigail Monahan; parents-in-law, Tom and Susan Serbin. mother-in-law, Maureen Stewart; siblings-in law: Bethann and James Curtin; Brian and Meaghan Serbin, Tom and Michele Serbin; many nieces, nephews and numerous friends.  

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 25, 2024 John F. Murray Funeral Home, 1220 Bethlehem Pike, Flourtown, PA. Relatives and friends will be received in the Funeral Home on Thursday, October 24, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 PM and on Friday, October 25, 2024 from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Bethann Curtin, 42 Putter Lane, Pottstown, PA 19464. Contributions will be used to establish a fund for his daughters' future.
