Edward R. Manley, of Flourtown, PA , age 88, on January 7, 2017 passed peacefully surrounded by family . Beloved husband of Mary (Parker)of 65 years. Loving father of Theresa Taylor (Jeff), Patricia Manley (Raef ), Edward Jr., Jacqueline Whiting (Bruce), Kathy Bacino, Mary Jo Roman, Christopher (Tara ) , Alison( Bernie) and Stephen (Murray). Devoted Pop -Pop to Chad, Melissa, Stephen, Sarah, Eddie, Taylor, Anna, Christopher, Abigail, Gabriel, Christianna, and Georgianna. Loving great- grandpop to Aiden and Mason. He was predeceased by brothers William and John. Born on 7/12/29 in Scranton, PA Ed was the loving son of the late William and Alice Manley. He was a graduate of Southeast Catholic High School and St. Joseph’s University. Ed had a career in banking and commercial real estate, eventually retiring as a Senior Vice President with First Pennsylvania Bank where he worked for 30 years. Ed cherished the simple things in life. He loved hosting holidays and family events at his home in Flourtown, traveling with his wife Mary, enjoyed gathering with family to watch sports on the weekend, loved watching sunsets with his grandchildren, vacationing at the Jersey shore each year, and took pride in being the business and life mentor to his children, always offering his guidance and advice. Relatives and friends are invited for visitation on at St. Genevieve’s Church, 1225 Bethlehem Pike, Flourtown, PA on Thursday, January 11th, from 6PM to 8PM and on Friday, January 12th from 9:30AM-10:30AM. A funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 AM. Interment will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Genevieve’s Church at the address listed above.
