Daniel S. Schempp “Schempp Dog” of Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, died on March 18, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was 54 years old. Dan was born on December 13, 1967 in Flourtown, PA to Fred and the late Doodie (nee Nahill) Schempp. Dan is survived by his wife, Sarah (nee McCall) and their son Danny and daughter Kelsey. His friends frequently reminded him that the day Sarah agreed to marry him was the luckiest day of his life! He is also survived by his brothers Fred (Joy), Jamie (Ginny) and sister Paige Davis (Paul), as well as many nieces and nephews. Dan’s greatest joy was being a Dad to Danny and Kelsey. He loved watching them grow and supported them every step of the way. He loved to talk sports with Danny and coaching him in basketball. His “Kelsey Girl” kept him on his toes, he couldn’t wait to see what adventure Kelsey came up with next. Dan had a passion for land development and made his career in building homes and selling properties. He loved to take long rides, look at old cars and listen to his favorite ‘80’s music. Dan was a lover of all things food, family and friends. He enjoyed cooking big meals to share and made everyone want to take part in one of his cooking adventures. When you met Schempy you never forgot it, and you couldn’t wait to hang out with him again. Dan was larger than life, with a laugh that could be heard throughout even the largest spaces. His sense of humor was unmatched and when he rubbed his face you knew something good was coming! His affection for family and friends was evident in the amount of hugging and kissing he showered on everyone around him. He was ever proud of being a Springfield Spartan and shared countless memories of antics he took part in with his many friends. Everyone has a Schempy story (or several!). He will be missed tremendously, words cannot describe the loss of this man. “We love you most Dad.” A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday March 24, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at North Hills Country Club, 99 Station Avenue, Glenside, PA 19038. Services will be held privately.
