Charlie Roman, beloved father and friend, passed in his sleep early on February 9th 2024 at the age of 70.
Charlie was born in Philadelphia in 1953 to his parents Charles and Genevieve. He attended Pierce Jr. College and McAllister School of Mortuary Sciences before going on to work at Oliver H. Bair, managing their fleet services. He eventually went on to follow in his father’s footsteps as a funeral director. He spent the majority of his career at Kirk & Nice funeral homes, making a lasting impression on his colleagues and the many families he guided through difficult times.
Social and outgoing, Charlie was always ready to be the life of the party. He was known for his charming presence, quick wit, and strong sense of (sometimes twisted) humor. Music was a big part of his identity. He played lead guitar in many different bands and was always prepared with a musical fact or a crazy story.
Charlie is survived by his children, Alexander and Elana, who will miss him sincerely. Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Friday, February 16, 2024 from 9-10AM at the John F. Murray Funeral Home 1220 Bethlehem Pike Flourtown, PA 19031 where services will follow at 10AM. Interment St. Dominic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lithuanian Music Hall 2715 E. Allegheny Ave Philadelphia, PA 19134 would be greatly appreciated.
