Barbara R Galante

Barbara R. Galante, of Flourtown, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2023 at her home.  

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Barbara grew up in Wyndmoor. She attended Our Mother of Consolation and Bishop McDevitt High School class of 1970. Barbara attended business school after graduation. She married her soul mate and love of her life in 1973, John A. Galante. Together they settled in Flourtown, where they raised their girls.  Barbara was a devoted Mom and put her girls first before everything . She later worked as a receptionist for many medical offices, ending her career at Chestnut Hill Gynecology in 2014 to care for her husband. Barbara enjoyed the Jersey Shore, the casino, and time with her many friends. She enjoyed visiting friends and enjoying a meal at local restaurants. Barbara also kept busy with her seven grandchildren. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her daughters and grandchildren. 

Barbara is survived by her daughters Christie Galante Vernick (Chris) and Susan Dailey (Jim). Her grandchildren John, Dan, Grace, and Caroline Dailey and Ryan, Alicia, and Ashley Vernick. Her brothers Henry A. Ross III (Betty) and John C. Ross ( late Gayle) and brother in laws Nelson Ross ( late Jessie) Jake Galante (Jeanne) and Joe Galante (Pat) and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  

Barbara was pre deceased by her husband John A. Galante, her parents Henry A. Ross, Jr. and Alice (Fitzpatrick) Ross, her in laws Ignatius and Catherine Galante and her sister Jessie Ross.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at 10AM at St. Genevieve Church, 1225 Bethlehem Pike Flourtown, PA 19031.  Relatives and friends are invited to her visitations at the church Tuesday from 6-8PM and again on Wednesday from 9-10AM.  Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
