Andrew P. Trainer

Andrew Patrick Trainer of Oreland, PA formerly of the Germantown section of Philadelphia passed away on July 18, 2023. Preceded in death by his parents (Charles and Hannah) and his siblings Charlie (Joanne), Helen (Lou), and Mary. Beloved husband of Nancy Trainer (nee Sheeran). Father of Drew (Paulette), Kevin (Jenny), Megan (Shawn Brown), Mary (Bill Krewson), and Nancy. He is survived by his Loving sister Margaret Garman (Fred), his nine grandchildren Hannah, Matthew, Bailey, Rita Lynn, Jameson, Andrew, Luka, Wilson, and Grady and many adoring nieces and nephews. Andy was a proud graduate of North Catholic High School class of 1952. He enlisted in the Army and then worked for The Ohio Casualty Insurance Co. Andy moved to Oreland where he raised his family. He was a member of Holy Martyrs Parish where he volunteered so much of his time. He enjoyed coaching Oreland Mustang football, the W club Little League, and many summer league basketball teams. He loved playing golf with his many friends and was a member of Sandy Run Country Club for 43 years. In addition, he looked forward to spending each summer in Stone Harbor, NJ with his family. Andy was devoted to the Blessed Mother working as an usher for over 50 years at the Shrine of the Miraculous Medal in Germantown. Andy loved life and lived it to the fullest. He had the best sense of humor. His Irish smile and one liners will greatly be missed. 

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday July 25, 2023 at 11AM at Holy Martyrs Church 120 Allison Rd Oreland, PA 19075.  Relatives and friends are invited to his visitations at the church Monday from 6-8PM at and Tuesday from 10-11AM.  Interment will be private.
