Dorothy Cecilia Edzwald Toy passed in Las Vegas, NV. Her only son, Joseph Toy, was by her side during the last months of her life. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on June 6, 1927 and is the daughter of the late John Edzwald and Genevieve Zubrzycka Edzwald. She was a member of St. Laurentius parish, graduated from Philadelphia High School for Girls in 1945 with high honors and received a scholarship to attend the Philadelphia Textile Institute (now the Philadelphia University) where she graduated as one of the first woman chemical engineers in 1949. Doris worked as a chemist for Rohm and Hass for 13 years, before getting married in 1963. She lived in Clementon, New Jersey for 38 years, where she helped run a family vegetable business at the Berlin Market. She is survived by her only son, Joseph Toy and by her two sisters, Jane Edzwald Szyszko of Philadelphia, PA and Lorraine Edzwald Gorczyca of Salinas, CA. Doris’s graveside services at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery will be private.
